I recently headed off to London for a masterclass with Dave Chaffey. Very early start as I had to be on the train at 5.45am (thanks Pat!) and although it was a long day, it was very rewarding.
It is always good to benchmark your industry knowledge against the best and Dave certainly falls into that category. For anyone who isn’t familiar with him, Dave is recognised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing as one of 50 marketing “gurus” worldwide who “have shaped the future of Marketing”. He has also written several successful Internet Marketing books and was responsible for the awesome search engine optimisation best practice guide.
The session was an advanced class in which we discussed various techniques and methodologies and their effectiveness in Google. Dave and I also discussed the merits of social media bookmarking (amongst other topics) and although we had differing views on that, it is always good to chew the fat on these things.
Was a fun day and I came away with some useful techniques and knowledge to pass on to our customers. Here is a photo of Dave during one of the breaks.
